MANHATTAN SHORT is pleased to announce an all new Journalism & Multi-Media Competition for aspiring journalists, television hosts, news reporters, photgraphers and online marketers. This competition will be judged by some of NYC's most influential and prominent TV News Magazine Reporters.
The Competition will be limited to the US residents for 2011 - our first year of operation, however, we hope to go global in 2012
With the explosion of multi-media programs offered in schools across the US and the dramatic increase in students -young and old- involved in television, video production and editing, not to mention the millions of amatuer videos posted on You Tube, we decided the time was right to create a first of its kind competition to showcase the most tallented wannabe reporters, journalists and videographers. A competition based on MANHATTAN SHORT itself with a common narrative thread and topic that will allow an audience and producers to compare the work and judge the talent.
MANHATTAN SHORT's Journalism & Multi-Media Competition is a contest within a contest to discover the next generation of Reporters & Media Stars from around the world!
How it works: During the week of September 25th to October 2nd, ten award winning short films from ten seperate countries already selected as finalists in the 2011 MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival will screen in over 250 cities across six continents to an audience of over 100,000 in one week. Audience members at each venue are asked to vote for the one film they think should win, with votes sent to MANHATTAN SHORT HQ where the winners is announced Sunday Oct 2nd.
