Below are brief descriptions explaining what we need and what positions you’ll need to fill for the Online Media Channels contest to be a success. It is permissible for one person to assume responsibility for more than one position listed below.
The Social Media Producer:
The most integral member of the team. You should be prepared to wear many hats as team leader, making sure deadlines are met, and overseeing the home page and marketing of the media channel.
The S.M. Producer is expected to:
a) Post & moderate topics on the home page. Pose questions about the films and moderate the responses. Post Questions to the filmmakers from your audience. We will have a contact for you to see that the filmmakers in MANHATTAN SHORT read your questions. .
b) When you or your team members post comments on your media channel, it is up to you to broadcast this posting to Twitter, Facebook and other social networks
The winner will be the "Social Media Producer" whose Online Media Channel receives the most online traffic
TV Host/Hostess & Cameraman
This person reports from in front of the camera - it is the on-air personality, so to speak. This individual should be confident and fearless in asking questions, dealing with the public and asking follow up questions without missing a beat. The first Question that must always be asked is WHAT FILM DID YOU VOTE FOR AND WHY? Staging, presentation and working well with your cameraman (Who may also be the Photographer) are important. Be creative!
Reporter/Journalist
Show off your writing chops! You are not limited to a single review. Write a preview, interview people involved with the Festival, give a little back story or history of the theater or town in which the festival is held. We are looking for authenticity and originality - an overall sense of the atmosphere of the Festival in your town. Reporters and Journalists will be given access to the filmmakers to interview. All Reviews about these films will be sent to the Filmmakers and Producers who will post them on the social media networks. Considering many of the Finalists for MANHATTAN SHORT go on for Oscars, BAFTAS this is a wonderful opportunity and exposure for the right person
Photographer/Video/Editor
Photograph the people who are running the Festival at your University. Audience shots. People Voting Learn how to insert photo captions "Who is in the photograph" at the media center's dashboard Photograph the person being interviewed. Edit the Interviews.
